Automatic Quality Control Measurements of Welded Joints

The goal of materialographic preparation of welds is to have a consistent process where the analysis is performed in a reproducible manner. With this starting point for the analysis, the use of machine learning for automatic dimensional measurements on welded joints is now possible.

This webinar will focus on using automatic features for dimensional measurement on welded joints for quality control purposes. The focus is on the specimen preparation process and automatic analysis, that includes cutting, grinding, polishing, etching and the measurements. The goal is to have a consistent process where the analysis is performed in a fast and efficient way, to ensure repeatability and reproducibility. The webinar includes new features of a dedicated image analysis system, ,called Structure Expert Weld-6, where machine learning is applied to automatically align the measurement lines to the welded joints that are subjected to quality control.
